8 August - Promises, Promises. It's the 8th of August already and this is my first entry for the month. Work has been keeping me incredibly busy and I haven't had much time to spend on the boat. However, I have been making plans to get plenty of work done, as I hope to get away for at least one weekend this month.

I really need to sort out a hot water solution for the boat and have decided on an instant gas hot water system which I will mount in the aft lazarette so that I can hook up a cockpit shower. This setup should work well as I can take a shower in the self draining cockpit after diving or swimming. I don't really like the idea of an internal shower onboard as it just creates a damp room. I figure if I am in a marina I have bathroom facilities and if I am out sailing, then I'd rather take a shower outside.

I have also finalised a design for the boomkin which I plan to replace toward the end of the year. I will use stainless steel tubes attached to the side of the hull. This will clear the rear of the deck and allow me to mount a radome, wind generator and solar panels off the back of the boat and out of the way together with a pushpit setup.

Other than this planning I haven't had much time for anything else. Hopefully my next entry will be more exciting.
